Breaking the rules (7)

I believe when you imagine the shape of a heel, this kind of heel will not pass through your mind. This heel is called "Heel-less" heel.
Some people think in 2011 it's a new innovation of shoes. But in fact back in 15th until 17th century, this kind of shoes were popularly worn by courtesans and patrician women to protect their shoes and dress from mud. It's called "Chopine" back then.
