Usually people paint in solid mediums, but there is another medium actually; water. This kind of art is called Suminagashi. It is an ancient technique from Japan.
this blog is only for school activities, which includes my sketches, paintings, doodles, etc.

Is it moving?
This is a pipe sculpture by Kang Duck Bong. It looks like moving while it is actually stand still. I think the gradient of the colours is why we think it is moving.

Week 1 Homework - TED Video Summary
As designers, we need to be creative, not fear of judgment
so we will be able to take creative risks, to be free to play. But we also need
to have rules about how and when to play. We need not only exploration, but
also experimentation to act it out.
Rhythm

a creative way to play with a book; curl the paper to create that rhythmical feel, as if it's flowing.

paper sculpture
I would like to say this is my only homework which let me spent about two or three hours just doing these three drops. This rainy Saturday really inspired me to do this "drops sculpture".

unbroken line drawing
a sketch which I did with a single continuous line from Drawing Fundamental class |
Try to do this :
Draw any object in front of you with only one continuous line, try not to pull your pencil off before you are done. Sounds simple. But it is actually more challenging than it seems! Remember. It is just a single line.

Amazing Anamorphic Sculpture!
Nurture vs Nature by Jonty Hurwitz (photo credit to http://www.jontyhurwitz.com/) |
See that? It is actually a long form of hand, and when it is reflected on the mirror, it becomes a normal size of a hand. This kind of distortion is anamorphic, which is very interesting art and I might say it is mind-blowing!
Day 2 - Lines
Here is a sketch from Drawing Fundamental class.
This sketch is about how I express lines to form several perceptions about the sketch. Although it's just a simple line, but it can serve as many functions. As in this sketch, it serves as something to show movements, depth, weight, gesture, direction, shape, emotion, and values.
The contour line (which is number 6 in the sketch) gives the embossing effect.

Day 1 - DIY brush and its drops
This is actually a late post for yesterday.
So it's my first day of school and in 2D Fundamental class I made my own brushes and painted with my brushes.
These are two of my paintings. Different lines from different brushes.
1. Dancing Fairy on Forest; The painting is done on A4 paper with black ink. Although it's a non-colourful painting, it shows the mood that can indulge our imagination of fairytale. There are many flakes above to show an enlightening atmosphere and there is a fairy dancing aesthetically in the middle of a forest.
2. Bird of Paradise: This painting shows a bird looks like Cendrawasih, which can be found in Papua New Guinea, except in this painting I added some feather on its head to add the mood of paradise along with its beautiful tail. As we can see, the bird is standing calmly on the branch of a tree, it gives a sense of simplicity and tranquility.
